"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
Clinic (Pre-K through 1st Grade)
Instructional program for boys and girls to develop basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Clinics are held Saturday mornings from January through March in the OLA gym. Registration fee includes OLA basketball t-shirt.
Intramurals (2nd Grade through 8th Grade)
Instruction for boys and girls continues at the intramural level, but within a game format. Depending on the number of children participating, there are three different intramural divisions (2nd through 4th Grades, 5th and 6th Grades, and 7th and 8th Grades), so participants are playing with other children of a similar age and skill set. Everyone makes the team and everyone plays. Intramural games are held one night per week in the evenings in the OLA gym from January through March. Families are encouraged to watch the games and cheer on their child! Our concession stand is open during the games to buy hot dogs, chips, popcorn and soda. Registration fee includes a reversible mesh basketball jersey.
BCBA Travel Team
Travel teams are available for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8, and they participate in a competitive league that includes other parishes throughout Brooklyn. This is a more competitive level of basketball and player eligibility is determined by team tryouts. The season is from October through March. Registration fee does not include uniform, which must be purchased separately.
